We obtained this special Tibetan tea from a Tibetan yogi who suggested its use in conjunction with chulen retreats and fasting. He suggested taking this tea with a little salt to really enable a detox and to help the chulen penetrate into the subtle channels of the body. It’s a dark infusion, earthy, permeating with qi. I have yet to find it online, but the package is clearly Tibetan and I think it’s from 2005. It really is great tea for fasting as it feels very nourishing, medicinal and calming as well as for a meditation. This is especially used about three weeks into the fast and can be used to make traditional Tibetan butter tea or taken neat. A precious tea in extremely limited quantities.*
